PATTY HEARST IN SLOW MOTION

We’ve got a mess of shows to announce here, there and everywhere. Scroll down for more info. But first let me say one thing: Man, it’s great to be home.

The other night we had a homecoming at the Great American Music Hall, a venue you have to see to believe. Thanks to everyone who came out. And to the people who came to our shows here and overseas over the last two months. And to the folks who let us know you had a good time. We do get your emails and tweets and Facebook responses - personally I reread them for 15 minutes every morning just to get my day going.

I’ve been having a stress dream lately. Playing so many shows burrows into your subconscious. Here’s the scenario:: The van leaves me behind at a rest stop. Then we’re playing halftime at the Super Bowl and I drive the van onto the field, do a couple donuts for the kids, and jump out and jack up the van and fix a flat. The crowd goes WILD! All while Stephanie is studying herself in the rearview mirror and with a steady hand applying eyeliner. Right before I wake up she calmly steps out of the van looking a lot like one of those Patty Hearst photos. She scales the stands where she kills some dude in slow motion. I wake up sweating - and read your emails.

If I take a nap, the dream starts right back up. I clock Stephie calmly working her way through the crowd again and letting some other dude off with a warning!

Then there’s the times I’ve wandered off and can’t find the gig. That’s really happened - I wish I could say it was a dream. Oh, and the chainlink fence with the padlock and the missing combination…

On to the next disaster,
