I never saw Green on Red before, though I heard some of their cd's. Based on the cd's, I wasn't a fan of Green on Red notwithstanding how much I like Chuck's solo stuff. In addition, I didn't think they would have enough time to practice to get their timing and stuff together. So my expectations were very low. Having said that, I was completely shocked in a good way. They were tight, very musical, and Dan's playing and voice were tremendous (unlike the other guys, he hasn't sang or picked up a guitar in years). Chuck was in top form, as were the other players. In summary, they rocked, I loved the show, and it was an honor to have had the opportunity to see this historic reunion. It sucks that Green on Red never got the fame or the bucks they deserved |

The set list, in no particular order... Hair of the Dog (which I do think opened the show), Gravity Talks, That's What Dreams Are Made For, Fading Away, Sixteen Ways, Jimmy Boy, The Drifter, Clarksville, Ghost Hand, We Ain't Free, No Free Lunch... there were others, which might have included Keep on Moving, Born to Fight and, even more maybe-ly, Sorry Naomi. Chuck was on fire, Jack was solid -- but set pretty far back in the mix, Dan's voice was surprisingly good -- his guitar playing improved as the evening went on, Chris wasn't always audible from the back of the floor but, when he was, it was spot on. I don't know who the drummer was, Dan didn't introduce the band and he gave Chuck, Jack, and Chris big hugs at the end of the show -- but the drummer, left out of that, just waved and walked off. The head honcho at Down There Records has a digital recordning straight from the board and mentioned that, some day, a superior quality recording, made by someone else(?), just might be released. |

I was there. Green On Red were immense. I have seen them many times but, and this is not just nostalgia, this was the best I have seen them perform. I was talking to Chuck a couple of days before the show and he was not particularly optimistic, he told me that Dan had trashed 3 amps during rehearsals that day. After the show Chuck was very happy, reckoned it was as good as they had ever played. the show was recorded and filmed professionaly so hopefully we will see/hear the results sometime soon. I belive KXCI also recorded it. The best news of all was that Chuck told me he hoped that GOR would get together for a UK tour next spring in Dan could be persuaded to join in. It might have been post show euphoria but I certainly hope it happens. |

Just got back from Tucson. Great weekend at the Congress. Chuck played with Pieta Brown, Howe Gelb, and others on the final song of the Rainer tribute (the last song was The Farm). That was great. But the GoR was just amazing! Chuck was on fire. And the whole band was really into it. The crowd too. All the material was from the original line-up. That was so very cool! They were filming video. So, hopefully there will be a dvd or something. |

Oh Yes! Miss midrift on the video cam was getting great close ups of the band, and the band getting great close ups of her navel as well! Real animated and mobile band members once resulted in a tangle of wires as they romed around the stage. Took a ballet to get everyone back into their original positions. A real tight and soulful delivery. CP hot as ever! DVD or not you had to be there to get the true feeling of these timeless moments. Looking forward to 2025 for the CC 40th? Like vintage wine it can only get better! |

I know you have to be wary of agency listings but I'm praying; my mantra is "BrumBarAcademy30oct".If Chuck salvages these dates by playing solo, my respect for him grows even more. |

yup - see my reply to the cancellation message - any of you up for backing Chuck - if the reason for the possible cancellation is money/band committments etc etc - well, if you dont ask, ya dont ever get ??!! |

Mark, There are clearly some radio oversights. KRSH and KEXP are two that come to mind. Please, don't take offense anyone (radio or listener). The page was originally created to go along with the cities that were/are part of the Aug/Sept tour dates as stations in those cities were most likely to "dive" into the album once again and make a little noise. As time permits, and with the help of you all, we'll get this list complete. |
