Go-Go Light in SF last nightWell on this side of the pond at the charming Rite Spot in San Francisco, some lucky few had the chance to listen to a short acoustic set by Stephanie. There were about six songs mostly from the great Go Go Market cd - plus a new, really good tune (my little mind forgot the title... but it stood out in this fine set). Mostly guitar; one tune on piano and that incredible voice. It just stopped the crowd mid-beer to take a listen then give a cheer. Steph opened for Ted Sevarese (with special guest on acoustic guitar, Jonathan Richman - no singing for JR; still in vocal chord recovery...). Ted and JR did a nice set that danced back to the 1920s and bounced around a few other decades to boot. Nice sound. A suitable Tuesday outing on a hot summer night in San Francisco. |

Tomorrow at KokoHope whoever's going has a great night tomorrow. I'm going to miss it, sad to say, having been cut down in my prime by the most agonizing tooth infection. Dosed up on the strongest analgesia my GP wife can find me, not sure I would survive the night, even if I made it into the city. It's gonna be a hot one. Hope it's a great show - I've got root canal treatment to look forward to on Friday and it AINT THAT PRETTY AT ALL, as WZ once sang about... root canal treatment. Oh, and if the band digs up some gold from the graveyard, they'll be playing my song. No cure for a brilliant mind. Stevie |
