Gotta agree, a fine night's entertainment with some good rockin' guitar throughout. Shake Some Action indeed. We are truly blessed to have this fine combo playin on our doorstep time & time again. Thanks as ever to CP, Stephie, Kevin, James & new boy KC (already fitting in like a hand in glove), enjoy the tour & I'll see you up north, NP |

Any reports? Setlist surprises? C'mon, people, let's hear it... |

Granted Stevie. Well Chuck and the gang waltzed out in the intimate venue of 'The Musician' like a band of cowboys with a full wallet at a brothel. Times are good and they surely know it. The audience tonight although more than receptive were far more subdued I guess compared to recent gigs that they've done in the U.S.- Dancing around the stage tonight was not on the agenda. It was more a case of listening intensively. Opening with a rocked up slide guitar version of 'Storm across the sea' they glided with ease through great renditions of new 'Temple Beautiful' tracks (Castro Halloween/The Left Hand/Right Hand/Willie Mays/White Night/I feel like Jesus/ The Title track) through to 'Automatic Blues' 'Would You Love Me?' and onwards to a cover of the Flamin' Groovies track 'Shake Some Action' which I managed to record footage. Link Below 'Who shot John' didn't make the setlist on this occasion but I've got tickets for Nottingham in a couple of weeks, so maybe then? ;) |

* I'd like to add...I personally think Stephie's Record 'Cry Tomorrow' which I bought last year is a real masterpiece! It should equally be up in acclaimed album reviews worldwide. Great production by chuck tboot! She had a brief little stint midway through Chuck's set which included 'Tina Goodbye' but a full support by her with backing by the other members of the Express which include the main 'company man' anyways...'Chuck' would be welcomed with major delight I'm sure.... In the meantime, back to Chuck...hit the link below for footage of a blistering 'You Did' from the same gig. |

Thanks for the report and the link, GFL. I was wondering if the band might work up a Shake Some Action and it doesn't disappoint! Stephie nails the harmony vocal (of course), James just flies on his solo, and Chuck's isn't too shabby either. ;-) I'm holding out for a Motorcycle Mama in Winchester. Stephie has rarely sounded this soulful. MM starts around 4:24. |
Yeah, 'Motorcycle Mama' works real well..Just proves you don't necessarily need to be an Etta James to carry the sleazy blues 'thang' off. Stephie does a great job in her own unique style. That's one thing about Chuck and the Express, their setlist can be chopped and changed here there and everywhere!..but whatever song takes a backseat, another great one rolls in. looking forward to your review of Winchester Stevie...likewise, I'll let you know how Notts goes in a couple of weeks...have fun! |

The link to iPlayer is shown below |

Cheers for the link. Maybe Chuck was thinking after struggling vocally through "Museum of Broken Hearts' that the chorus to 'Willy Mays' just wasn't gonna happen! But even when he's voice has gone he adapts swiftly and still pulls it out the bag. "Give me some CREDIT!" he has sung many a time..."Anytime Chuck, Anytime" |

Can someone save this stream and post for those of us who can't access due the sessions because it's "not available in your area"? |
Hi Blureu - should be available at the link below, if it all worked OK! |
Too right - Winchester x2 & Notts for me and stoked for all 3. If we're throwing in requests I'll go for 'Automatic Blues' but as you say the setlist will be faultless anyway. Anyone know if The Spanish Bombs DVD be on sale? or any other exclusive tour merch? |
spanish bombs was for sale in illinois to a packed house so get there early, the show was great! |
Yes, Spanish Bombs DVD is available for sale, along with: Temple Beautiful Vinyl, assorted CDs (including a handful of the deluxe version of Here Come The Snakes) & T-shirts. |
Snakes deluxe is currently going for £50+ on amazon marketplace. Worth an investment, I'd say! |
All Here Come The Snakes have gone... |

Dylan plays Jimi's All Along the Watchtower when he plays it. When Bob starts doing our version of Abandonded Love I'll kill myself with joy. |
ha ha. I will have a word with The Man next time we're tweeting at each other, and see what I can do, |
Way, way out there last night at the GAMH. Transcendent rock n roll. Chuck is a 5-tool player and the ME brings it hard and fine every time. Stephanie's turn in the spotlight was beautiful too. Keep up the great work, band, and rock the tour. |
Here, here!!! CP at the apex last night. This band is hittin the note! Thanks Chuck for a great show! |
Clever with the message title! Yeah, looking forward to seeing that performed 'live' myself. Well I'm based across the pond and my own band are working on some of Chuck's new and excellent 'Temple Beautiful' material including that song. Chuck's music is not well known around these parts!..we're on a mission to change that. Link below for our 'in progress' page Be cool to hear 'Who Shot John' at Leicester in a couple of week Chuck..;) *I'll make sure I get some footage recorded if they do Stevie... |
THanks, GFL. It's a valuable mission! You have some very tasty licks there. Keep on rocking, while the world's still free... |
Been there done that. Armando's and in Salt Lake? It is in the set lists! GAMH tonight will be a not to miss |
