The GoR Reunion is amazing news but just a correction or two... Chuck was not an ORIGINAL member of the band, and obviously the late Alex McNicol wont be there... RIP. Maybe I'm pedantic, but there's so much BS out there that we who know about this great music and help proselytize should get it right!!!! |

Ringo wasn't an ORIGINAL member. RON WOOD wasn't an ORIGINAL member. Hell, Keith Moon wasn't an ORIGINAL member. or David Gilmour. or Grace Slick. or Lindsay Buckingham. etc... |

Shemp... the difference is that Green On red made some fine records pre-Chuck and some damn fine ones with him, Pete Best may have been the orginal Beatles drummer but wasn't around in time for their first records even. I guess for me original line-up means the first recorded or widely recognised line-up which ever is the earlier. And these things do matter, if we are gonna demand that people like Chuck gret their credit out there then we have to grant the same to those who went before him... |

Indy showJust got to thinkin about the show in Indianapolis June 12. There was a tornado and only about 26 people came to the club. What a great show chuck and the band put on for us. I came down from Chicago to see him there and it was like they were playing in my living room. Can't wait for Aug 24, they will be in chicago! |

The Hurting BusinessI'm sitting here at work, bored out of my mind and feeling out of sorts when I hear the familiar strains of The Hurting Business on WYEP, which greatly improves my mood and state of mind - it reminds me of all of the rocking Chuck Prophet shows I've seen and reminds me that there is life beyond the 9 to 5 routine. So, thanks for brightening my day. Hoping to see you in Pittsburgh again soon. |

OCFI thought the band rocked the main stage something good Saturday at the remote oregon country fair. Good squishy! Thanks to Chuck and co for sticking through a later more intimate set that included some technical difficulties/inabilities on the all volunteer staff's part and a marching band some hundred feet away, but what a great 'Primo' and 'Roadrunner.' Wish they could come every year! |

Chuck at Jammin’ Java in Vienna, VirginiaWow what a show! I'm a big fan since seeing Chuck on Austin City Limits. Why isn't everyone in the U.S. turned on to this guy? He's such an original and his stage presence is so authentic and intense. Afterwards I asked him to name the favorite album he'd made and he grabbed a copy of "No Other Love." out of a cardboard box. "I'm not supposed to say this is my favorite" he said as he handed it to me. I guess he was referring to the fact that record companies always want you to promote your latest effort. He palmed the twenty I handed him, I told him to "Keep the change" (it was a $15 sale) and he replied that it wouldn't go to waste. Stephanie wasn't with him that night, having had to teach because she couldn't get a substitute. "I feel like I've been let out of a cage" he said about her absence, though it was clear he would have been happier had she been there. Keep it up, Chuck - we need musicians like you to remind us of how good it can be. Til' next time...... |

That show was my first time seeing Chuck live. I was blown away. Such talent...extraordinary. Gives me faith. I plan on catching some of those Amsterdam shows! |
